First year was a roller coaster ride. Consisting of more downs than ups, more changes than constants.
You know how its the first day of college and you get punished for not wearing your ID-Card when you haven't even received one yet? Yes, I didn't know it was a thing until I was punished and sent to the library. (Not that I didn't sneak out from the other side along with the seniors) and finally ended up getting late for the first lecture. Hmm, Rocky start.
The worst and ironically the best part of starting a new college/school/life is that you meet new people, new friends, new secrets, new gossip, blah and blah and blah new. You are lucky if you still have some of your old friends in the same college as you. Then you can just stick around with them for most of the time. See, the thing is, I don't hate making new friends. I just don't know when it's the right time before I can start being my awkward self making awkward jokes at awkward times without creeping out my "new friends." But I AM SO PROUD I FINALLY HAVE A GROUP OF FIVE AMAZING GIRLFRIENDS ALONG WITH ME. AND THEY ARE THE BEST! Obviously, I have many more people that I know but those 5 know me more than most.
I realized that its okay if you don't meet your best friends for 2-3 months in a row, because when you meet them after so long, it gives you unparalleled happiness. I realized that its okay if you score less in a particular test, it does not affect your career in any way. I realized that some people are just meant to be for some time in your lives, but the memory remains forever. Most of all, I realized that no one matters more than your own happiness.
Also one lesson learnt, NEVER argue with a teacher even when everything in your heart and soul is telling you that you are right. Because teachers, sadly, do have the power to destroy your career.
